JAMB set to scrap general cut-offs for UTME according to the statement, the Registrar of the examination body, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has expressed disappointment with the development and calls on Nigerians to ignore the claims. The statement read in part: “The public is hereby notified that JAMB has not commenced the sales of its application documents as advertised by some unknown and desperate persons.“They are to disregard any website or individuals claiming to be in possession of these documents and offering same for sales.“We are putting finishing touches to innovation and changes to ease the challenges associated with the procedure of application for the 2017 all Computer-Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.“We are looking forward to announcing the commencement of the sales of these documents very soon,’’ the statement quoted the registrar as saying. Jamb statement advised the public to feel free to contact the board for clarification on its activities through its website or contact numbers whenever they were in doubt.Recall that the examination body said it will adopt “pin vending” for the 2017 UTME test.Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the head of media and information, said that it would no longer use scratch cards, adding that intending candidates to get familiar with the new approach.
Ebonyi State Government is seeking to partner with Indian Government to establish an Electric Automobile Assembly plant in the state. To this end, Governor David Umahi, paid a visit to the Indian High Commission in Abuja on Wednesday where he was received by the High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Abhay Thakur. The Governor, according to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze was there to seek for partnership on importation and establishment of an assembling plant of Electric Mode Automobiles. Speaking during the visit, Mr Umahi noted that Electric Mode Automobile is not only a technology of tomorrow but a technology that cuts cost. He further revealed that his key interest in the partnership includes importation of the sample electric powered tricycles, buses, motorcycles and cars while establishment of assembly plant for same will follow.
