Customs Breaks Rice Shops In Ogun, Seize 4,550 Bags Of Rice.

 Samel Awoyinfa and Afeez Hanafi Rice sellers in Sango Market , in the Ado Odo/ Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday blocked the Temidire end of the Lagos -Abeokuta Expressway for over seven hours .   The traders were protesting against the alleged invasion of customs officials from the Federal Operation Unit (FOU ) of the Nigeria Customs Service , Ikeja , who allegedly broke several shops in the market around 12 am .   The operatives, who were reportedly accompanied by soldiers attached to OP MESSA , were said to have impounded about 4 , 550 bags of rice and 75 jerrycans of vegetable oil, estimated at millions of naira. The traders also accused the officials of breaking their safes and taking money during the operation that lasted for about three hours . 2nd Niger Bridge: FG Mobilises Contractor To Site.

Approves $40m for Nigeria-Cameroun Bridge Work will soon begin on the Second Niger Bridge as the Federal Government has mo­bilised contractors to the site of the project. The cheering news was bro­ken on Wednesday in Abuja by the Managing Director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Mr. Uche Orji. At a press conference in Abuja, Orji said that the com­pletion of the multi-billion nai­ra Second Niger Bridge linking Asaba in Delta State and Onit­sha in Anambra State would be done because the Federal Gov­ernment was handling it with dispatch. He admitted that time had been lost in the execution of the project, but declared that with the mobilisation of contractors to the site, work would be ac­celerated on the project, adding that a new financing structure had been adopted. UNIILORIN Suspends Lecturers For Whistle Blowing

The affected lecturers on their part alleged that they are being victimized for exposing corruption in the institution. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali while noting that the suspension was necessary distanced his office from the action. One of the affected lecturer, Afolayan noted that though the reason for their suspension was not known but believed it has to do with their blowing of whistle of alleged impunity and corruption in the institution. However, the Factional Vice Chairman of ASUU, Dr Bode Olumorin has called on the federal government to come to their aid, adding that since the government advised people to point out corrupt practices, they should not be abandoned. The period for the suspension was not mentioned in the letter and the suspended lecturers had petitioned their national body for redress. Mimiko appoints new Vice Chancellor for OSUSTECH

The Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has approved the appointment of Prof. Sunday Robert Ogunduyile, as the Vice Chancellor of the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa. In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Aderotimi Adelola, the appointment is to take immediate effect, while he also charged the new Vice Chancellor to be very proactive towards making the citadel a research and technology hub in Nigeria and beyond. Adelola said the hard work and high cerebral of Prof. Sunday Robert Ogunduyile has distinguished him for the position.

How Does The Future Of Nigeria Looks Like?

Back in the early stage of Fela Anikulapo Kuti , he sang a song about what was happening in Nigeria then.. Though, people thought he was joking but it is now crystal clear that all what he had said are happening now.. To mention but few corruption, non-challant attitude of Nigerian Government towards its citizens, not giving its citizen freedom of speech etc were the downside of Nigerian government, we did not pay utmost attention to all he had said.. Fela is gone now but we are left behind all he had said.. Some years back again, Abudlkareem sang a song titled Nigeria Jagajaga, we all crucified him for referring to Nigeria as Jagajagacious nation. His lyrics incited widespread of hatred and provocation among Nigerians.. Some even thought that it was because of ethno political situation of the country then.
